Trein na Pretoria (Train to Pretoria)

An old photo was used as a basis for this painting. It shows either “hensoppers” (joiners) or captured “boeren” being loaded onto a goods train. Trein na Pretoria is a sad song that was sung by the “Die Briels” in the 1950’s.
