When looking for inspiration I sometimes page through books and in this case I was paging through a book with old photographs. When I came across interesting figures I drew them directly on the canvas. The story in the painting developed all by itself. The numbers at the bottom of the painting are the page numbers from which I made the drawings. I decided not to paint over it.
