I did a painting called “The Afterparty” which was about the festivities after the ending of the Second World War. I got a call from someone who wanted to buy the painting but at that stage it was already sold. He asked me if I could do another “afterparty” which I declined.
I then did a the painting “Luncheon on the Grass 2” which have a similar theme as the “afterparty” and I offered it to him. It was not what he wanted and then I did a “afterparty” number two.
“Luncheon on the Grass 2” did find another home.
